Induction Preheating Rivets Of Carbide Steel
Description
Induction Preheating Rivets of Carbide Steel With RF Induction Forming Heating Units
Objective Preheat low carbon steel rivets and handrail bars for reformingĀ for construction
Material Low carbon steel rivets 7/16ā (11.1mm) dia x 1.5ā (38mm) &Ā 1.9ā (47mm) long, low carbon bar 1.25ā (32mm) dia x 3āĀ (75mm) heat zone
Temperature 1922 ĀŗF (1050 ĀŗC)
Frequency 48 kHz for the rivetsĀ 55 kHz for the bars
Equipment Ā· DW-HF-25Ā kW induction heating system, equipped with aĀ remote workhead containing two 1.5F capacitors for aĀ total of 0.75F
Ā· An induction heating coil designed and developedĀ specifically for this application.
Process A Three turn encapsulated helical coil is used for the rivets andĀ a four turn encapsulated helical coil is used for preheating theĀ handrail bars. The rivets are heated to the 1922 ĀŗF (1050 ĀŗC) in
22-25 seconds and the bars are heated to the 1922 ĀŗF (1050Ā ĀŗC) in 4 mins 43 seconds.
Results/Benefits Induction heating provides:
Ā· Controllable heat pattern
Ā· Ease of on site location use
Ā· Safe, no open flames
Ā· Even distribution of heating
