Annealing Brass Tubing With Induction

Description

Annealing Brass Tubing,Copper Tube-Pipe With Induction Heating System

Objective Annealing brass and bronze tubing for bending in a mandrelĀ bender to form handrails
Material ā€¢ Brass tubes 1.5ā€ (38.1mm) and 2ā€ (50.8mm) diameterĀ with 0.065ā€ (1.65mm) wall thickness
ā€¢ Bronze tubes 1.5ā€ (38.1mm) and 2ā€ (50.8mm) diameterĀ with 0.100ā€ (2.54mm) wall thickness
Temperature 1000 ĀŗF (538 ĀŗC)
Frequency 300Ā kHz
Equipment ā€¢ DW-UHF-6kW induction heating system, equipped with aĀ remote workhead containing two 0.5Ī¼F capacitors for aĀ total of 0.25Ī¼F

ā€¢ An induction heating coil designed and developedĀ specifically for this application.
Process A twelve turn helical coil is used to heat an 8ā€ (20.3cm) area 3ā€Ā (7.6cm) above the end of the tube. Each of the four tubesĀ require a different heat cycle and time to reach the required
temperature. Please see the chart below for each tube.Ā 1.5ā€ 1.5ā€ 2ā€ 2ā€

Results/Benefits Induction heating provides:
ā€¢ High efficiency, low energy costs
ā€¢ Precise and controllable placement of heat
ā€¢ Hands-free heating that involves no operator skill forĀ manufacturing
ā€¢ Even distribution of heating, eliminating fractures duringĀ bending
