Induction Annealing Shaft End

Description

Induction Annealing Shaft End With High Frequency Induction Heating System

Objective Annealing the end of a steel hydraulic motor shaft prior toĀ machining
Material .75ā€ (19mm) diameter steel rod, 6ā€ (152.4mm) long with aĀ keyway at the end
Temperature 1350 ĀŗF (732 ĀŗC)
Frequency 300Ā kHz
Equipment ā€¢DW-UHF-10 kW induction heating system, equipped with aĀ remote workhead containing one 1.0 Ī¼F capacitor
ā€¢ An induction heating coil designed and developedĀ specifically for this application.
Process A three turn helical coil is used for annealing the motor shaft.
The end of the motor shaft is placed in the coil and power isĀ applied for 20 seconds to reach 1350 ĀŗF (732 ĀŗC) and turn theĀ steel red hot
Results/Benefits Induction heating provides:
ā€¢ High efficiency, low energy cost
ā€¢ Precise and controllable placement of heat to anneal onlyĀ the required area
ā€¢ Faster production process
ā€¢ Consistent results
